My trip to Arkansas

I just got back from spending several days in Arkansas with Matt, Amy, and Preston.  I had so much fun, and it was great to be with them.  Here are some highlights from the trip:

We visited Eureka Springs, a cute little resort town in the Ozarks.

Poor picture, but a pretty place!

Everybody needs a wicker street bike.

Preston holding Flat Stanley (Amy's niece sent him to her - she was supposed to take pictures of Flat Stanley at various points of interest in Arkansas) for a picture with Humpty Dumpty.

 Yum.

Christ of the Ozarks.  And Flat Stanley.

One day, while Matt and Amy were working on putting together Preston's swingset in the backyard, Preston was busy doing a little work of his own pruning Amy's flowers.  And by pruning, I mean carefully cutting off each blossom with his "cut tool".

Another day we visited a "Safari Park", where we got up to see wild animals up close and personal - like this camel.  Yes, that's his snout in Matt's driver-side window.  All the signs said to keep your windows closed, probably for this very reason.

Emus are extraordinarily ugly animals...or birds...or whatever they are.

And here's poor Flat Stanley having a near fatal encounter with a zebra.

We spent a fair amount of time in the car driving to these fun places, so to keep Preston entertained, I taught him how to take pictures with my camera.  These next three shots were taken by Preston.

Here's Preston posing for a shot that Amy took.

On my last day there, we took a trip to a nursery and picked out flowers for Amy's pots on her patio.

It was a great trip - thanks Matt, Amy, and Preston for showing me such a great time!  I miss you already!
